Mānuka
Minimum of tests performed;
- MGO (Methylglyoxal)
- DHA (Dihydroxyacetone)
- HMF (Hydroxymethylfurfural)
- NPA (Non-peroxide activity)
- C4s (C4 sugars)
- Diastase (Diastase activity)
- MC (Moisture content)
- Tutin (Tutin levels)
- APC (Aerobic plate count)
To ensure that you are getting the best quality , authentic New Zealand Mānuka honey, we verify the Methylglyoxal (MGO) content of all our honey and display the amount of MGO per mg/kg on all our labels.
We also test to make sure that there are no additives in our product and test for 150 pesticides and C4 sugars (to check for adulteration) in your honey. Zealandia Honey® exclusively works with IANZ & ISO 17025 certified independent laboratories to verify the content of our honey before we ship the order to your destination.
Science definition
To ensure you buy genuine Mānuka honey we make sure all our honey meets the science definition set out by the Ministry of Primary Industries here in New Zealand. The test consists of;
A combination of five attributes, 4 chemicals and 1 DNA marker. These are the requirements to authenticate monofloral and multifloral Mānuka honey and can be identified by using two laboratory tests.
